Haha, of course that wouldn‘t work, going to the second concert night, staying into early morning hours and then reporting right after. I guess this Ladyfest to me has been not so much one of crazy great workshops, but of pretty thrilling film and concert nights and subsequent sleep deprivation! Sort of late night Ladyfest. Anyway, apart from the sexy party tonight over at Frauen3000, Ladyfest is over and I am wondering quite a bit what about the festival was „the future of feminism“, as it was titled. Last wednesday’s opener was a big discussion round on that, and on thursday there were movies along the lines of figuring out what feminism can be these days. More question marks than tentative answers there, though. A bit of discussion on that will follow here soon. I bet you can tell that I am not sure about it at all. But I have to give it some more thought.
By the way, did you see that the German Wikipedia entry about Ladyfest has been proposed for deletion by August 12 if the entry doesn‘t get „improved“? Here’s the odd discussion – who else wants to participate? I have never done Wikipedia work, but this seems to be a good time to start!
Regarding the wikipedia thing, you might be interested in an older article by Annalee Newitz: Wikipedia vs. women, about the „Wikichix“.
well, yeah, and it seems like i am getting bribed for referring to fiber all the time, but i am not. there is also a longer article on wikichix by petra schwarz and vera schwarz in the current fiber issue worth reading.
